Imerslund-Gräsbeck Syndrome (IGS), also known as Selective Intestinal Cobalamin Malabsorption (ICM), is a disorder in which the intestines fail to absorb enough Vitamin B12. This variant, found in the Beagle, is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene CUBN. Similar variants also occur in the Border Collie and Komondor.
Kliniske egenskaper
Symptomer for hunder som er rammet av IGS kan inkludere sløvhet, dårlig appetitt og ubehag etter å ha spist, noe som i tillegg kan resultere i dårlig vekst og/eller vekttap. Urinanalyse kan også avsløre økte proteinnivåer i urinen.
